ANDOVER police are hunting a man thought to be responsible for attempted burglaries at two village churches on Friday. An unsuccessful attempt was made to force open the vestry at All Saints Church in Upper Clatford and the raider left empty-handed.
The same man was later seen at St Peter's Church in Goodworth Clatford, where a crowbar was used to break into the vestry, force open a desk and remove keys. The keys were tried in the safe lock but nothing was taken. The thief is described as white, aged 24 to 26, clean shaven, with short, ginger hair and blue eyes.
l £100 damage was caused when a window at the United Reformed Church in East Street, Andover, was smashed.
