THERE was a bloody sequel to a shoplifting drama at a Chandler's Ford superstore.
For the suspect, who was captured on CCTV, may have cut his hands and legs as he fled across a razor sharp barbed wire fence.
The incident happened at Asda's Bournemouth Road store last Thursday after a man grabbed three bottles of spirits from a shelf.
He ran out of the store and when challenged by staff he threw the bottles into bushes.
The offender then escaped by scaling a barbed wire fence and it is thought that he might have cut himself.
An Eastleigh police spokesman said: "There was a fair bit of blood at the scene."
The incident happened between 5.50pm and 6.15pm when the car park was busy with late afternoon shoppers. The injured man might have sought medical treatment for any injuries.
Police have also issued a description of the wanted man who was aged between 25 and 35 years, had a white European complexion, 5ft 10in and of medium build. He had dark hair.
He appears to have a mark or mole on the right side of his mouth.
Anyone with information should contact Eastleigh police on 0845 045 4545.
