Many businesses today have a website whether they use this for electronic commerce, as an information site or simply for communication.
Cravenplan Computers is holding a free seminar to provide all website owners with the information they need to understand the legal implications set out in the Electronic Commerce Regulations which came into force in August 2002.
Next Wednesday Craven-plan is staging a seminar at its office. The seminar at 1pm lasts approximately one hour and refreshments will be provided. The speaker will be Izaz Ali, a solicitor from the specialist firm Lawdit, based in Southampton. Lawdit is a niche practice that specialises in Intellectual Property, IT and Internet Law and provides help and advice to businesses and individuals that have some form of Internet presence and/or activity.
Topics to be covered include electronic commerce regulations, who the law applies to, essential information for a website, cancellation rights, penalties for non compliance, and marketing e-mails and SMS.
Cravenplan says it is intended to interest website owners who sell or promote their business via their websites, even if they do not take payment online.
Any representatives from businesses in the south are invited to attend, but places are restricted and there is expected to be a high turn out for this opportunity to receive some free legal advice. To book a place please contact Cravenplan computers online at www.cravenplan.co.uk/seminar.htm
