The Hat Fair, Britain's oldest street theatre festival has announced the appointment of Sin Thomas to the post of event director.
She replaces Cat Loriggia who has taken up a post in London.
Sian, who will take up the post later this month, has been a regular visitor to the Hat Fair and is a long-standing fan of the event.
"The Hat Fair has a wonderful atmosphere and has managed to develop and grow without losing any of its special qualities" said Sian.
"I want to continue this development and involvement with the community and I am looking forward to an exciting year."
Sian, whose previous experience has been as a freelance festival co-ordinator and performer, will be working alongside the festival's steering group and artistic director, Jonathan Kay.
Hat Fair organisers are now looking to recruit new voluntary members to its steering group to assist Sian.
Anyone who thinks they may be able to help should contact Grenville Houser, Hat Fair Chairman (01962) 859055.
They are also interested in talking to anyone who could help out during Hat Fair itself, which runs from July 3rd to 6th 2003.
