DESPITE singer Ian Dury's untimely death, his band The Blockheads are just too good to disband.
Continuing to spread the music of Dury, The Blockheads appear at The Brook on Thursday with the great man firmly in mind.
They released an album, Ten Turnips From The Tip, earlier this year, which featured seven songs on which Ian put down vocals shortly before he died, plus two more for which Robbie Williams provided the vocals.
Although Robbie probably won't be in attendance Thursday night, The Blockheads line up with the familiar Chaz Jenkel and bass player Norman Watt-Roy, playing new tracks as well as classics such as Reasons To Be Cheerful, What A Waste, Sex and Drugs and Rock 'n' Roll and Hit Me With Your Rhythm Stick.
The Brook, Southampton, October 31. Tickets: £13.50. Box office: 023 8055 5366.
