MAJOR changes in management structure are under way at Hampshire-based ICG UK, following a transfer of ownership for the industrial and commercial refrigeration and air-conditioning company.
One of the biggest employers in the Solent region, ICG is the parent group for Searle Manufacturing Company, Dawmec, Custom Coils and SS Coils, who are all based at Newgate Lane, Fareham.
Dave Gillett, 51, of Hedge End, who joined Searle as an applications manager 28 years ago and became technical director in 1994, takes over as managing director from Winchester's Chris Pearce who is leaving to concentrate on new career ventures after nearly ten years at the helm
Mr Gillett has played an important role in the establishment of European standards and independent certification for refrigeration and air-conditioning products. He will assume responsibility for sales and marketing when Bob Wallbanks, 61, takes early retirement at the end of the year.
Mr Wallbanks, from Hill Head, who transferred to Searle in 1979, having spent ten years with its then parent company, has been sales director since 1985.
