James Beattie is set to start coaching the Eastleigh strikers - including Matthew Le Tissier!
Jason Dodd was at Ten Acres on Tuesday to coach the Jewson Wessex League leaders' defenders but now he will be joined as a part time coach at Stoneham Lane by Beattie AND Wayne Bridge.
Dodd also put Paul Doswell's men through some power running sessions on Tuesday but Saints man of the moment Beattie and Bridge are now preparing some specialist coaching sessions of their own.
Eastleigh assistant manager David Hughes said: "James and Wayne have also promised to run training schedules for the boys. James will be looking after the strikers and Wayne will be working with the full backs and the midfielders."
Hughes, meanwhile, is looking forward to the competitive debut of Le Tissier, his former Saints teammate, against Newport IOW Wednesday night.
Le Tissier's one appearance for Eastleigh so far was a pre season friendly against Bashley.
"People were beginning to think Matt wouldn't play and that it was just a publicity stunt, but I never had any reason to doubt his word," said Hughes.
"I'd love to have Jason and Francis Benali playing next season but I think it's a bit premature to think they'll play non league football so soon."
