BOWLERS turned out in force for a charity event on Thursday.
The Mayor's Ten Pin Bowling competition was held in aid of the Basingstoke mayor Rita Burgess' chosen charity CLIC and raised well over £1,300.
Thirty-two teams competed, and the first prize was won by a team from AWE Aldermaston.
Second prize went, appropriately, to a team from CLIC, and third prize to a team from Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council.
The mayor said that she was highly delighted with the evening and thanked Bowlplex for allowing the use of its facilities, as well as for providing a buffet and raffle prizes.
Cllr Burgess also thanked Pip Care for organising the evening.
