Basingstoke Town climbed back into seventh place in the Ryman Premier Division table with a 1-0 victory over Sutton United at the Camrose Ground - their eighth win of the campaign.
'Stoke dominated the proceedings to such an extent that the Sutton side failed to muster a single goal-bound shot at home 'keeper Scott Tarr, pictured, for the entire 90 minutes.
Yet, despite their dominance, the North Hampshire club had to wait until the 70th minute to end Sutton's resistance and record their second home win within a week.
Determined play by Neville Roach saw him cut the ball back across goal for ex-Eastleigh striker Craig McAllister, who was in the right spot to slot the ball into an empty net from barely four yards.
Neville Stamp also stung the hands of former Aldershot 'keeper Andy Pape in the United goal with a stinging 25-yarder and Efan Elad's inswinging corner hit the Sutton crossbar as 'Stoke comfortably claimed the three points.
Tomorrow Basingstoke travel across the Solent to Cowes Sports for their Hampshire Senior Cup clash against the Jewson Wessex League side.
