THE sixth Isle of Wight Extreme Sports festival is currently taking place at Yaverland.
Supported by the Isle of Wight Council and other sponsors, the event - which runs until October 30 now features five major events.
Breathtaking competitive and non-competitive action takes place in the form of kitesurfing, windsurfing, mountain boarding and biking as well as other land and waterbased sports.
New for this year is a mountain bike and boarding .
Annie Horne, Wight Leisure's Managing Director, said: "Extreme sports are the largest new growth market and the Island is well placed to attract such events with the natural resources it has to offer.
"Through Isle of Wight Council's support of such events, the Island will be firmly placed on the map with extreme sports enthusiasts around the country."
