IF IT'S the illuminations you're after, forget Blackpool.
Paul Weller brings his latest tour to Bournemouth on Tuesday night supporting the release of his sixth studio album, Illumination, which has already spawned the single, It's Written In The Stars.
The new album is particularly special to Paul as it features a whole host of musical friends including Steve White, Steve Craddock and Damon Minchella from Ocean Colour Scene, Noel Gallagher and Gem Archer from Oasis, Kelly Jones of Stereophonics and Carleen Anderson and Jocelyn Brown.
Weller, of course, made his name as frontman of The Jam who scored hits with In The City, Down In The Tube Station At Midnight, A Town Called Malice and Beat Surrender.
Paul then went on to form The Style Council before going solo in 1989. Some highly-rated albums followed, including the classic Stanley Road which produced the singles Broken Stones and You Do Something To Me.
As well as releasing a new album, Paul has spent much of this year on the road with his acoustic show, which culminated in the live show Days Of Speed.
Bournemouth International Centre, October 29. Tickets: £25. Box office: 01202 456456.
