The Southampton Diving Academy is all set to welcome diving clubs from across the south of England to the Quays to take part in their Invitational Competition tomorrow and Sunday.
Eight clubs, from locations ranging from Luton to Plymouth, will bring young divers of a very high standard, many of them international medallists.
The Southampton academy will be entering a very strong team of its own, including Natalie Hill, this year's junior European highboard champion.
Gary Hunt, the junior British highboard champion and Ciaran O'Reilly, the group C boys British 1m and highboard champion, are also included in the host team.
In addition, Austrian Lucie Hantek begins a training visit to Southampton by taking part in the competition.
Lucie is spending three weeks at the Quays to be coached by Lindsey Fraser and her team, with the intention of improving her national ranking.
Regarding the competition, Fraser said: "We are very fortunate to have some of the best facilities for diving in the south here at Southampton.
"It enables us to put on a really prestigious event, which will bring some of the best young talent in Britain to the Quays, giving our youngsters very valuable competitive experience."
The past performance of the Southampton youngsters means that there are high hopes of some medals for the home team.
Spectators are welcome and competition starts at 11am each day.
