BASINGSTOKE Town will wait on late fitness tests on Glenn Howes and Ricky Allaway before naming their side to face Sutton United at the Camrose tomorrow.
Winger Howes has a sore ankle and defender Allaway is suffering from a calf strain. This could rule the duo out of the game.
Town will want to win after the disappointment of losing 1-0 against Hayes on Tuesday night. However, there were positives to take from the game and the side can build on last Saturday's 2-1 win over Braintree - a game in which Howes scored the opening goal before being sent-off.
Manager Ernie Howe said: "We will leave it to the last minute before naming our squad, but are fully aware of the situation and who will replace them."
Max Rooke (pictured), a substitute in the last two games for Town, would be the ideal replacement for Howes as he pushes for his first start for Basingstoke.
The game against the Surrey outfit has been brought forward from November after Town's planned trip to Billericay was called off because the Essex side are in FA Cup action.
It should be an ideal time to face Sutton, who are currently two places above the Camrose Blues but suffering a dip in form having only picked up one league point this month.
On Saturday they lost 2-0 at Hitchin and on Tuesday night they were beaten by an injury time winner 3-2 at home to Hendon.
Howe said: "We were unlucky on Tuesday night and we will now look to return to winning ways."
