Hull Thunder 2 Basingstoke Bison 3

STEVE MORIA scored his first league goals for the Basingstoke Bison, including the game winner, as they gained quick revenge on Hull Thunder with a 3-2 win on Sunday night.

If was the visitors who drew first blood as Peter Campbell at 4:21 finished a move involving Chris Crombie and former Thunder player Daryl Lavoie.

Later in the period, Campbell clashed with Paul Wallace and both earned a six-minute rest in the sin bin.

As the period came to a close, Eric Lavigne picked up a 2+10 penalty for checking from behind on Nick Cross.

Early in the second period, the visitors were given another powerplay when Domenic Parlatore departed for tripping, but instead it was Hull who scored from Scott Young at 23:25. W orse was to follow as Matt Cote was sent to the sin bin and Parlatore gave the home side the lead at 30:44.

However, seconds later, Young picked up a holding the stick penalty and then talked his way into a 10-minute misconduct penalty to go with it from referee Mike Rowe.

This time the Wella-backed side made the most of their man advantage as man-of-the-match Moria (pictured) scored after good work from Lavoie and Benoit Cotnoir at 32:45.

Cotnoir then talked himself into a 10-minute misconduct penalty after picking up a holding penalty at 38:41.

The third session started with Paul Berrington being the first to visit the sin bin at 44:47, but the visitors killed off the penalty and the Scottish forward returned to the ice to provide the link between Nick Cross and Moria as he netted his second goal at 47:16.

As the clock ticked down Hull withdrew their netminder Stephen Foster but were unable to force an equaliser.
