IT MAY have been a hair-raising occasion, but hundreds of pounds were raised for a very worthy cause.
To celebrate the launch of its new-look salon, FHC for Hair, in Elmwood Way, Winklebury, held a hair show on Monday to raise funds for the Mayor of Basingstoke's charity appeal, which raises funds for CLIC (Cancer and Leukaemia in Childhood).
Before an audience of specially-invited guests, the salon's styling team presented their interpretation of current hair fashions using skilful cutting, colouring and drying techniques.
Regular clients were used as models, and salon owner Graham Kent, who acted as a compere, said: "We are pleased to help CLIC, and hoped to have raised more than £200."
