NOT surprisingly for someone who has the looks as well as the voice of a sex god, Craig David hasn't had any shortage of female admirers.

But the 21-year-old star still hasn't got a girlfriend.

"I'm still single," says Craig, who blames the hectic pace of life as a pop star, and the dubious motives of many of the women he has been approached by, for his continued state of bachelordom.

"I've met some of the most beautiful girls in the world, but I'm just trying to find that equilibrium.

"For me, when it happens it happens. When you go about looking, looking, looking, you're just distressing yourself.

"But I'm a very good judge of character, so when the right woman comes along, I'll know it.

"I've been approached by so many different people - gold-diggers, and girls who are just interested in my music."

So what qualities is Craig looking for in the love of his life?

"They would have to be a bit like Charlie from Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory," says Craig, referring to his all-time favourite film, which gave him the title of his first album, Born To Do It.

"I want someone who's just about living life and enjoying life to the full. It needs to be something much deeper than just finding someone physically attractive."
