YOUNG men are being asked to take part in a unique dance and martial arts project.
Imlata Dance Company will be in residence on the Isle of Wight from November 25-29 with their latest production Trans Avatar, a multimedia explosion of contemporary dance, martial arts and integrated sound and technology.
The residency is being hosted by the Isle of Wight Council's dance development project and funded by Southern Arts.
During the week, Imalta will be working with local groups to create two new dance works which will be premiered alongside Trans Avatar at the Quay Arts centre in Newport on Friday, November 29.
The dance development project is looking for young men aged between 14 and 20 who would like to work alongside Imalta's artists including choreographer Jayachandran and five-times world Kalari Martial Arts Champion Dil Sagar.
No previous experience in dance or martial arts is needed but participants must be available for the whole week and available to perform on Friday evening.
Jane Bridle, dance development officer, said: "This is a rare opportunity for young men to work with professional dancers, artists and sportsmen. Anyone who is interested in the arts or martial arts, and joins the project will have a unique experience."
