COMPANIES in Andover are being told by police to be on their guard following a spate of thefts in the town.

In the latest incidents on Thursday night bricks were thrown through the door to gain access to the buildings - a builders merchant in Junction Road and a company on West March Business Park.

Nothing is thought to have been stolen in the first attack, but a scanner worth £1,500 was taken in the second.

Pc Ted Reynolds said: "This is part of an on-going series of incidents around the town and on the industrial estates. We would remind companies to be vigilant and report anything suspicious."
