A JOINT venture between Age Concern and Club Hampshire has led to a new club being formed for older people interested in arts and crafts.
Sir George Young is to officially open the new club when it meets for its first session on 15 November at Warner Court, just off Junction Road, Andover. The idea has come about in response to requests made at a public meeting at The Bridge Community Centre.
"The aim of the club is to try to meet individual member's aspirations in their chosen sphere of arts and crafts," said Brian Page of Andover Age Concern.
"Artist David Smith and Club Hampshire's Brenda Parker will be on hand at each session to provide instruction, guidance and help."
Club Hampshire will provide transport where necessary.
Following its opening on 15 November the group will meet fortnightly from 2pm until 4pm. For details call Brian Page on 01264 332251.
