FORMER Andover club stalwart Mike Burford before the match became one of a select band he was presented with the coveted North Hants FA's meritorious award for 25 years service to football.
The former goalkeeper, who joined Andover in 1969, played for the town side for 14 years but his love affair with the Lions continued for a number of years before forming a winning partnership with ex-boss Ken Cunningham Brown gain his first honours as the Lions completed two remarkableseason in which they won six six trophies - including the JWL title in successive seasons and also brought back the coveted Hants Senior Cup to Andover for the first time in 35 years.
