PRIDE of place in the HSA Youth League last Saturday went to Vernham Dean after all their teams recorded victories.
Mike Webber's squad benefited from the under-11 top-of-table clash between Porton and South Wonston - the former beating the previous leaders 2-0- allowing Vernham to take over pole position with a convincing 4-2 away win at Worthies. And there were also first wins for their teams at under-15 and 14 levels.
There were also changes at the top in the under-10's division two with Test Valley losing 3-1 to new team Fordingbridge whilst at under-15's Stockbridge are the new leaders after they ended Salisbury's 100 per cent start with a narrow 3-2 away win.
No change at the top of the under-14's league but Castledown and Whitchurch kept up the pressure on the leaders, the latter still with an unbeaten record after four games with the closest of wins 5-4 at Redlynch, and Castledown who have played one game more winning in the autumn sunshine against Test Valley 7-0 at Collingbourne.
And after a difficult first season Lyndhurst will be thrilled to hit fourth league spot after winning by the odd goal in eleven at Upper Clatford.
Three teams on nine points head the under-13 section. Top two Porton and Whitchurch are unbeaten, with Worthies 'A' level, but having played one more game.
