ANDOVER team manager Howard Goddard finds himself with a welcome problem with the return of skipper Glen Damen, striker Vinnie Rusher and midfielder Steve McNultly for this Saturday's JWL trip to unbeaten AFC Totton (3pm).
Said Goddard: "The side did so well against Newbury last week that it leaves me with a bit of a selction problems, but a nice one.
"Success breeds these problems, no player will want to be on the sideline on Saturday, but that's my headache.
No one is certain of a starting place and all the players are playing for their place in the side."
He added that the 3-1 win over Newbury last Saturday in the first round of the FA Vase showed that Andover had the strength in depth needed to compete with the top sides in the JWL. "We were missing three key players but could have won by a bigger margin," he said.
"All the hard work we've put in training is now starting to play off with wins over two very good sides in the past week.
"We've perhaps played better but I was pleased at the way we played when we did not have the ball. Sometimes you've got to mix and match a bit, play what's called gumshield football, and I admit it's not pretty to watch but it got us the result.
"We've now scored 46 goals from the 16 or so games we've played, including 28 in the last five. We went three games where we failed to score but I was pleased at the way we've bounced back and now look like scoring every time we go forward."
It will be the first time this season that Goddard will have a full squad available with midfielder Simon Beddows also back after missing the last four games due to Army excercises.
Goddard however has name the following squad of 16 for the trip to Totton.
Andover (from): Drake, Kennedy, George, Damen (capt), Pratley; McNulty, Knight, Hughes, Sullivan, Nurse, Rusher, Butler, Bennett, Phil Nichols, Rae, Mariner, Richards. Ironically, the Lions have also been drawn away against Totton in the next round of the FA Vase, with the game being played on Saturday, 9 November. "It'll give me a good chance to have a look at them," he said. "I think it's a good draw for us. The confidence is high in the camp and I see no reason why we can't go there and get a result. Teams that are unbeaten have to be beaten some time but we've got a good chance of winning."
The Lions are also in action at The Portway next Tuesday in the JWL when they entertaine Downton &.45pm).
Whitchurch, who are away to Wimborne this Saturday, helped ease their plight at the football of the JWL table with a welcome point from a 0-0 draw with Hamble ASSC at Longmeadow on Tuesday night.
