THERE'S no need for half-term blues in Fareham's Western Wards. The Western Wards Community Campus is gearing up for its first Family Learning Week for all ages.
The campus incorporates Brookfield Community School and Lockswood Community Centre. The week runs from October 26 to November 3.
Community co-ordinator Kay Jackson said: "We are very excited about our first family learning week.
"We have more than 60 activities, ranging from karate and fencing to computers and cookery.
"This event is all about people of all ages trying to do something for the first time. Many events are free, or at low cost.
"It is a great opportunity for dads and son, or mums and daughters, grandparents and grandchildren to chose an activity and have fun learning something new together.
"Most events are open to all ages and can be attended by individual children and adults whatever their age."
There will be visits by a number of international artists including multi-talented guitarist Gordon Giltrap, who is giving a concert and workshop for budding guitarists on November 2. BBC children's presenter Elizabeth Frost is giving a show on October 26.
