Hampshire cricketer Adie Aymes was on the bench for Fleet Town last night but he and Mark Dennis' third game in charge ended in a 1-0 defeat at home to Burnham.

Aymes did not make his debut for the North Hampshire outfit.

Instead he watched the visitors take the lead in the first half and hold on to a victory that ensured a third successive defeat for Fleet since he and Dennis took over.

Former Saint Dennis said: "We've basically got kids out there at the moment so I hope the Fleet people don't have a go at the players, I'm prepared to take all the flak.

"The average age of our side at the moment is about 21 but we've got five quality players out injured; we're just lacking in confidence at the moment. Having said that, Burnham were still there to be beaten.

"They scored a scrappy goal from a corner against the run of play and we should have got a goal on chances created.

"There are plenty of things for us to work on in training, like the passing, which was poor."
