Omega, the Hampshire-based international watch makers, Parkhouse and Wyatt, the Southampton jewellery retailer and Southampton Football Club are set to line up with over 30 local businesses to raise thousands of pounds for two local charities, The Hampshire Deaf Association and The Children Say Charity.
A star-studded gala dinner is being held on November 20 at the Friends Provident St Mary's Stadium which has attracted an array of celebrates from TV, film and sport who have pledged their support to the charities as a curtain-raiser to the Daily Echo's regional premiere of the Bond film Die Another Day.
The guest list includes EastEnders actors Derek Slater and Ian Lavender, PH Moriaty - Lock Stock And Two Smoking Barrels, Ed Stewart, Jeff Stelling and Mark Dymond, a James Bond imposter in the latest film Die Another Day.
Anthony Burtenshaw, director of Parkhouse & Wyatt and chairman of The Children Say Charity said: "Businesses in the Southampton region have once again shown their commitment to the charity sector, and this combined with the support from the football club and the celebrities attending the event will ensure a memorable evening for everyone.''
Julian Clegg supported by the BBC South Today team is to present the entire evening which will commence at the BBC car park with a cavalcade of Aston Martins driven by Saints' players and personalities to the Friends Provident St Mary's Stadium.
At the stadium they will be joined by over 450 guests, supporting the event, to kick off the evening by participating in a fun casino game designed to raise money for the good causes. Saints' players will role the first dice.
A gala dinner will follow which will feature an auction of fabulous prizes with the proceeds going to the dedicated charities. FPD Savills of Winchester will be presenting the auction, which includes: an exquisite diamond from Parkhouse &Wyatt together with a trip to De Beers, diamond dealers in Antwerp - flights, hotel accommodation and the services of a chauffeur included.
There will also be the chance to drive an Aston Martin for the day and prizes of an Omega 'James Bond' watch, an Omega ladies watch, corporate hospitality at a Saints' game for ten people, a chance to be a mascot at the Saints' game against Manchester United, a 007 Le Tissier Saints' Shirt, a 007 Brosnan Saints' shirt and James Bond memorabilia including a pair of jeans worn by Pierce Brosnan in the film and an outfit worn by Halle Berry.
The climax to the evening will be - 'all aboard' a convoy of ten coaches, donated for the evening by coach firm Buddens, for a short trip to LeisureWorld to see the new James Bond Film Die Another Day.
