A WEBSITE created to serve the Waterside area has won silver in a county-wide competition.
The community website www.thewaterside.net took second prize in the Best Voluntary and Community Organisation category at Hampshire County Council's HantsWeb Awards 2002.
The accolade has pleased Totton College web developer Paul Blake, who constructed and runs the site.
He said : "I am delighted that thewaterside.net has received such high profile recognition."
He added: "Being runner-up is still a huge achievement as we have beaten stiff competition from more than 60 other entries."
The website provides a community portal for Totton, Dibden, Hythe Fawley, and the surrounding villages.
It carries local information which includes ferry and bus timetables, contacts for local clubs and churches, and a what's on guide.
