Bashley's short reign at the head of the Dr Martens League Eastern Division table ended when Craig McIlwain's late equaliser earned unbeaten Rothwell Town a point in a 1-1 draw at the Recreation Ground.
Barry Blankley's table-toppers slipped back to fourth after McIlwain took advantage of a scramble in the Bashley area following a corner by bundling the ball over the line five minutes from time to cancel out a Craig Davis opener.
Bashley had started the second half strongly and were finally rewarded after an hour when the tireless Davis netted his third spot-kick of the season, and his second in his successive games, following a push on Craig Anstey.
Boss Blankley said: "A draw was probably a fair result in the end. But the disappointing thing was conceding a goal so late on when three points would have seen us start to build a gap between ourselves and everyone else at the top."
