Lethal Linnet Leigh Phillips plundered yet another hat-trick as Lymington & New Milton powered into today's second round FA Vase draw at the expense of Walton Casuals.
Phillips's treble-shooting exploits hoisted his season's personal goal tally to a staggering 20 and helped ease the Linnets to a comfortable 5-2 victory over the Combined Counties League outfit at Fawcett Fields.
Linnets manager Graham Kemp said: "In cup games you just want to get through but today we have played very well as well and we could have scored even more goals. Leigh is certainly firing on all cylinders at the moment."
Matty Town opened the scoring for Lymington and the first of Phillips' goals arrived before half-time when a powerful surging run and cross by Nick Miles saw the striker dive full length to open his account.
Another left-wing cross, this time by Liam Green, presented Phillips with a side-footed finish before Walton Casuals reduced the arrears through Mark Hunter.
Lymington & NM restored their three-goal advantage straight from the restart when Green's cross was only cleared to the edge of the penalty area and Kevin Gill returned it with interest.
And, when Anthony Tilley's corner kick wasn't cleared properly, Phillips pounced to complete his hat-trick - his ninth goal in just two Vase ties this season - before Dave D'Rozario grabbed Casuals a late reply.
