Don't try telling beleaguered Blackfield & Langley boss Terry Smith that lightning doesn't strike twice!
Earlier in the season, the Watersiders were denied a famous FA Cup victory over Dr Martens League Newport IoW by an equaliser some eight minutes into stoppage time. Amazingly, it happened again on Saturday in their basement battle with Downton!
Smith's side seemed to be cruising to a comfortable victory at Gangwarily after strikes from Simon Davison and Steve Wheatland put them into a 2-0 lead as the match drifted into added time.
It appeared to be little more than a consolation when Neil Archer smacked in a free-kick five minutes into stoppage time but, three minutes later, Russell James lashed home a Mark Ireland knockdown to snatch the Robins an unexpected point.
All this after Downton's Ben Smith had been red-carded ten minutes from time for conceding the penalty which Blackfield's Scott Maitland had saved by Robins 'keeper Andy Bailey.
"I still can't quite believe it," sighed Smith. "We were all over them but that just about sums up our luck at the moment - everything seems to be going against us.
"If Scotty had put away the penalty they wouldn't have come back from 3-0. I feel a bit aggrieved and the draw feels like a loss, but our luck will change," promised Smith.
Downton manager Mitch Blake added: "I got a big, big smile on my face - two goals in the 95th and 98th minutes - of course we weren't lucky!"
Two more late goals - plus another red card and missed penalty - helped give Alton Town something of a surprise 2-0 victory at in-form Hamble ASSC.
Alton's John Edwards was the man who had his second-minute penalty saved by ASSC 'keeper Paul Miles before the home side's Nicky Clarke was later sent off for two bookable offences.
Hamble boss Larry Clay smiled: "It's probably the first game this season that we've not started as underdogs but there's no doubt that Alton deserved their victory."
The match looked to be heading for a goalless affair until Nathan Bray and Danny McGarry struck for Alton in the last ten minutes.
Whitchurch 'keeper Smalley saved two Abu Manneh penalties but still couldn't prevent the table-proppers from crashing to a 5-0 defeat at Fareham - the home club's first win in nine matches.
Three goals in five first-half minutes from Gary Frankling (2) and James Barfield put Town firmly in control and Floyd Hamudu made it 4-0 before half-time. Substitute Ashley Conlan completed the Fareham nap hand five minutes from time.
Portland United missed the opportunity to go second in the JWL table when they were soundly beaten 2-0 by Bemerton Heath Harlequins at Western Way.
"We absolutely pulverised them and, had it been a boxing match, it would have been stopped at half-time," declared Bemerton boss Steve Slade.
"Our form has been a bit in and out this season but we've been training really hard for the past three weeks and today I think we've seen the benefit," he added.
Ian Chalk netted both goals in the final 20 minutes, the first a close-range effort following a good move down the left and, the second, a neat near-post header.
