Hampshire's Youth have begun their 2002-2003 campaign with a three-legged win over visitors Buckinghamshire.
First up were the under-18 men, who ran up a 7-2 scoreline. Fareham's Mike Clarkson continued his good local league form with a player-of-the-match award.
Gosport's Katrina Collis won the award for the under-21 women after they won 2-1. And there were congratulations for Jo Little. She won the opening game of the day to complete her youth darting career before joining the Services.
The under-21 side won 3-2 - aided by Danny Ballard and a 27.33 winning average. Hampshire's next match is scheduled for December when Hertfordshire visit Cosham BL.
GEMMA VIDLER looks like being a chip off the old block in the Bishop's Waltham Ladies Winter League.
Playing in her first-ever season - and after just one league match - Vidler has reached the last eight of the singles competition.
Gemma is the daughter of former Hampshire county player Kevin Vidler.
She appears to have a bright future in darts and is one of four Priory players to reach the last eight.
The full draw for the quarter-finals, to be played on February 6, is: Gemma Foster (Swan) v Fiona Ford (Priory), Jan Freemantle (Woodman) v Sheila Egerton (Priory), Ann Wilds (Sam's) v Gemma Vidler (Priory), Linda Martin (Priory) v Caroline Chamberlain (Grapes).
