IF ANYONE deserves a rest right now, it's Beth Orton.
The singer-songwriter is currently busier than ever, promoting her new album, Daybreaker, all over the world - with an American and European tour already under her belt.
Orton is dedicating October to her UK tour, but will then be flying back to American for a solo acoustic tour.
The English star says she is 'really happy' with the new album.
"It went to number eight in the charts in England and number 14 in the charts in America, which was pretty amazing.
"Daybreaker is an evolution from the last album, Central Reservation. It's not a huge departure - just a natural progression."
Orton made her name guesting on a couple of Chemical Brother tracks before releasing her debut album Trailer Park, followed by the highly acclaimed Central Reservation.
Southampton Guildhall, October 18. Tickets: £15. Box office: 023 8063 2601.
