MOST stand-up comedians know their limits and stick to them. Jeremy Hardy, on the other hand, isn't afraid to tackle any subject.
Unlike many modern comedians, preferring a mixture of whimsical observation and childhood anecdotes, the Radio 4 favourite covers everything from his midlife crisis to the looming war with Iraq.
Memorably described as the "mildest-mannered of revolutionaries", Hardy remains a favourite of live stand-up audiences while maintaining a healthy radio and TV career. He makes regular guest appearances on programmes like Just a Minute and I'm Sorry I Haven't a Clue and appeared in and co-wrote the Channel 4 show Jack and Jeremy's Real Lives with Jack Dee.
Nuffield Theatre, Southampton, October 23. Performance: 7.30pm. Tickets: from £14. Box office: 023 8067 1771.
