EVERYONE'S familiar with Hamlet's "to be or not to be..." and Juliet's "Romeo, Romeo" speeches.
But what if Hamlet was pondering his existence while preparing to seduce Lady Macbeth or Juliet and Romeo's romance would be just fine if it wasn't for that pesky Puck?
In Jonathan Shelley's Malvolio's Revenge, Shakespeare's characters and their famous speeches are liberated from their original plays and put in a different context.
The play is not a compendium of Shakespeare's works but an original play which takes the audience through the magical world of Shakespeare.
Although it is not a sequel to Twelfth Night, the characters from this play are the driving force behind Malvolio's Revenge, including Malvolio, the wronged steward with an overdeveloped sense of pride.
The play is brought to the stage by a Hampshire-based theatre company, Well Works Productions, who have a reputation for making Shakespeare accessible, engaging and enjoyable.
Tower Arts Centre, Winchester, October 24. Performance: 7.30pm. Tickets: £7.50. Box office: 01962 867986.
