DETECTIVES are hoping to track down a man who viciously attacked a teenager in Ludgershall just over a year ago and have issued a new image of the man they want to catch.
"On Saturday 6 October 2001, a 16-year-old boy was sitting in Ludgershall Recreation Ground, listening to his CD player," said a police spokesman.
"A man approached him and, after a brief conversation, walked away. He returned some 15 minutes later with two other youths.
"The man spoke briefly to the teenager before striking him on the side of the head with a baseball bat, causing temporary unconsciousness," said the police spokesman.
"Later, the lad realised that his CD player had been stolen. He suffered from diminished hearing, swell-ing to the side of his head and a painful jaw."
Wiltshire police are renewing their appeal for information and have issued a drawing of the man.
Anyone who recognises the image is asked to contact DC Ian Parry at Marlborough Police Station on 01672 512311 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
