STEAM railway enthusiasts are being offered the rare opportunity of travelling along the military owned rail line to Ludgershall on 26 October.
The excursion is being sponsored by Daylight Railtours, a branch of the Mid-Hants Railway.
The train will be hauled 34016 Bodmin, a Westcountry Pacific engine.
It will be the first appearance of steam haulage on the line since 1987, when a former Somerset and Dorset engine hauled an excursion to Ludgershall as part of the Basingstoke Rail Festival.
Tickets for the trip are available on 01962 733810.
