FIREWORKS time is fast approaching and one of the biggest and most spectacular events will be at the Thruxton Race Circuit.
Make a note of the date, Saturday 2 November.
The fireworks display starts at 7.30pm but people are advised to get there early to enjoy the funfair, the live music provided by Nokando and sample the food on offer.
The gates open at 5.30pm and people are encouraged to arrive before 6:30pm to avoid the problems of 'last minute' arrivals rushing to see the show.
There is ample parking and there will be free buses from Andover, courtesy of the Hampshire Bus Company (timetables published later).
The banking of Thruxton Circuit provides splendid viewing for the fireworks but go early to ensure pole position. "We are confident we can outdo last year's success with Xtreme Fireworks committed to giving us a spectacular show, backing up with Block Buster film music," said a spokesman for the Rotary Club of Andover and Andover Round Table who together are organising the event.
Entrance on the night will be £4 for adults and £3 for children of school age but advance tickets, available now from Andover's Woolworth store and Shopmobility, come cheaper; £3.50 for adults and £2.50 for children of school age.
The family ticket at £10 is only available in advance. Advance tickets will also be on sale in Andover's Chantry Centre on Saturday 25 and from Thursday 31 to Saturday 2 November.
And it's all in a good cause.
Profits from the event will go to charities supported by Rotary and Round Table.
