On that very first day

He was unfussed

As the detail of his

Being was caressed

And wondered at;

As if knowing

Of these things we had long forgotten

He now waited patiently

For our journey to begin.

The parade of love,

Exclamation of miracle,

This gift of colour the world

Had placed all about him

Was just light to him.
