WAYNE BRIDGE is not the only Saint involved in international action tonight.
Paul Jones is almost certain to keep the goalkeeeper's jersey for Wales against Italy in one the biggest matches ever held at the Millennium Stadium.
The Saints 'keeper, dropped after letting in a soft goal against West Brom in September, said: "I was really disappointed to be dropped because I had played really well during the six or seven games before that mistake.
"But I was instantly dropped and there was nothing I could do about that. I haven't lost any of my sharpness and have been training hard."
Antti Niemi, who is now first choice in goal for Saints, will play for Finland against Yugoslavia tonight after their 3-0 win against Azerbaijan on Saturday.
Meanwhile Claus Lundekvam is hopeful of retaining his place for Norway's home game against Bosnia tonight and keeping out ex-Manchester United star Ronny Johnsen, now with Aston Villa.
He said: "I feel I'm just as good as Ronny. I have had that feeling for a long time.
"Of course I will be disappointed if I lose my place on Wednesday. I feel this game was a breakthrough for me in the national team.
"I think I'm more respected in England than in Norway. A bit of it is the media's fault. I can play well for 90 minutes, but then Solskjaer comes in and scores, and steal the headlines. But that's not a problem for me."
