SERIOUSLY-ILL Southampton teenager Errol Matthews wowed dancers with his DJ-ing skills at Merry Oak Community Centre.

The Saturday night disco was just one in a series of fund-raising activities the 17-year-old is organising to generate cash for Naomi House Hospice, near Winchester, where he has received respite care for the past two years.

Errol, of Priory Road, St Denys, has only months to live after being turned down for a heart and lung transplant.

Having already endured eight major operations, doctors fear internal scarring means he could easily die on the operating table of internal bleeding if they attempted the delicate procedure.

Now the determined teenager is devoting what time he has left to organising a series of charity events to raise money for Naomi House as a thank you for all the support the hospice has given him and his family.

"Lots of people have done lots of things for me so I want to do something for them. I want to give them a present," said the plucky youngster.
