Roke Manor Research has appointed Simon Reay to the newly created position of technical sales manager for its Internet systems and mobility division.
Mr Reay, 38, brings 20 years' experience of the telecommunications industry to Roke Manor Research, including ten years at Nokia where he built up extensive international experience in the convergent Internet, media and telecommunications market.
The appointment reflects the strengthening of Roke Manor Research's sales and marketing team. Earlier in the year, Elaine Burroughs joined the company as technical sales manager for the radio division, with a particular focus on developing the company's wireless technology.
Commenting on the appointment of Simon Reay, Keith Halsey, director of the Internet systems group at Roke Manor Research, said: "Despite being a key technology provider to our parent company Siemens, and the defence industry, Roke Manor Research has the breadth of technology and expertise to diversify into new commercial markets, such as banking, construction, retail and consumer goods, and automotive. Simon's expertise means he will be a huge asset in helping to win this new business and develop relationships with customers.''
Mr Reay is married with two children.
