EMMA WEEKS will be inspired by her former Hampshire team-mate Kirsty Taylor when she goes for her European Ladies Tour card at San Quentin later this month.
Taylor, from Sandford Springs ,is still basking in the limelight of winning the European Tour Rookie of the Year award.
The 23-year-old made sure of the title in the last event of the season, the Biarritz Open when she made the cut and finished in a tie for 41st place, boosting her season's earning to 52,903 euros.
Most of that came with her third-place finish in the Welsh PGA Championship of Europe event, but going into the Biarritz Weetabix Tournament she knew could still be caught by Sara Beautell.
The Spanish girl gave Taylor a good run for her money, outscoring her by one shot, but it wasn't enough to lift her above the Hampshire player who finished 24th in the rankings, 11 places above Beautell.
Weeks, who beat Taylor for the Hampshire amateur title three years ago, was the only amateur to qualify for this year's British Open. The Hockley club player stormed through at three under but went on to miss the halfway cut.
Now Weeks, who was second in the English Strokeplay Championships last year, will be hoping to emulate Taylor's achievement at Tour School a year ago when she graduated with 27th card.
Tour School takes place at San Quentin between October 30-November 2.
