A TERMINALLY-ILL Southampton teenager, devoting his last months to raising money for the hospice he attends, has been swept off to a star-studded night out in London by limo.
According to mum Jan Lawler, Errol Matthews didn't roll in until 1am after travelling to the capital to see Pop Idol finalists Gareth Gates and Will Young play Wembley Arena.
The 17-year-old, of Priory Road, St Denys, described the evening as "brilliant" but said it had taken him several days to get over such a late night.
"The whole evening was excellent - Gareth Gates flew down from the ceiling when he came on stage. It was the first time I'd been to Wembley," he said.
Naomi House Hospice, near Winchester, which Errol has been attending for respite care over the past two years, gave him the concert tickets, while the car was laid on by Southampton company Executive Limos.
The inspirational youngster touched the hearts of Daily Echo readers this summer when we told how he has been turned down for a heart and lung transplant and given just months to live.
Instead of feeling sorry for himself, Errol is raising money for Naomi House at Sutton Scotney, Hampshire's only children's hospice.
He's already netted hundreds of pounds for the cause by DJ-ing at the charity discos he's organising around Southampton, including one which took place at Merryoak Community Centre on Saturday night.
"It's good to have raised so much money already," he said.
Errol's next fundraising disco will be held at St Denys Community Centre in Southampton on October 19.
