The Mid-Hants 'Watercress Line' Railway, will today assist in the making of a BBC short film called Coming to England.

Floella Benjamin Productions have been commissioned to make her book of the same name into the drama.

Floella is best known as the presenter of the '70s BBC children's show, Play School and Coming to England tells the story of her journey from Trinidad to England in the mid-'Sixties.

It is based on her early childhood and her two-week adventure at the age of 10 on a ship crossing the Atlantic.

From Southampton, Floella travelled with her two brothers and sister by steam train to London Waterloo.

The railway will feature in several scenes, including the use of Alton Station to portray a dockside platform.

With authentic rolling stock, including a loco built by the Southern Railway in 1945, trains will again travel through the fields as they did in Floella's memories.

The railway operates the 10-mile track between the Alresford and Alton and is often used for film locations. Most recently, Ropley Station was used to film a Spec Savers commercial.
