IT'S NO exaggeration to say that drum & bass specialists Kosheen are from all over the British Isles.
The bizarrely named trio of Markee Substance, Darren Decoder and Sian Evans come from Glasgow, Bristol and Wales respectively and are a household drum & bass name with the success of their recent Hide U which was voted best single at the recent Drum & Bass Awards.
Kosheen aren't a new outfit who have had a lucky break, though. The band have been on the circuit for ten years now and put their success down to the timeless attraction of the good old-fashioned song.
"We're trying to push our sound and take it into different areas," says Markee.
"We want to show people how versatile we can be. One of the most positive things so far has been the way people in different scenes have picked up on our records. That's great and the reason it's happening is because we're working with songs. A good song is universal; if you love it you'll love it, no matter what style of music you're into".
