HOW do we know whose reality is real?
Maybe the seemingly mad person has a firmer grip on reality than the sane.
This is the problem addressed by Group K in their innovative reworking of Gulliver's Travels.
Presto! or The Secret Life of Swift and Gulliver brings together fantasy, drama, madness and science as a team of behavioural scientists observe laboratory subject Lemuel Gulliver as he tells them of flying horses and even flying islands.
Gulliver/Swift is played by Mat Fraser.
Actor, poet, musician, writer and self-described 'thalidomide ninja', Mat has recently been seen presenting Born Freak on Channel 4 and may also be familiar to TV views thanks to his Virgin phone advert and his role as Marlon in Metrosexuality.
Fraser appeared at the theatre last year in his critically praised solo show Sealboy Freak.
Portsmouth Arts Centre, October 12. Performance: 8pm. Tickets: £6.50. Box office: 023 9283 7373.
