Third from bottom and with just a single win from four starts, Basingstoke are in need of a major injection to their National Division Three South season, and they could find it against the Cornish reds of Redruth who visit Down Grange.
Four sides share the same record and with Redruth being one of them - their win coming against a weakened Havant just a fortnight ago - Ian Calder and his men must target this game as a home banker.
There are some injury and unavailability concerns for the Kiwi Director of Rugby, so much so that he names a squad of 21 as he finalises his options ahead of the clash.
Definitely missing is Welsh-working Steve Drawbridge and the injured pair of Matt Dangerfield (knee) and Tony Jones (hamstring). Prop Neil Young is still absent while he completes his fire training course.
"Redruth are very strong at home," says Calder, who is looking forward to his first encounter of Cornish rugby. "But they are the same as us with regard to searching for the odd result away from home. However, we are looking forward to playing at home."
Havant could do their county rivals a favour against Barking, the side below the Down Grange side and still without a win, by maintaining their 100 per cent Hooks Lane league record.
They will be wary, though, as Barking beat Reading, the side that beat them in the Powergen Cup last weekend, and will be desperate to collect their first points of the campaign.
Havant do have some troubles of their own but are given a huge boost by the return of fly-half Steve Claffey and scrum-half Dave Jones, but will miss winger Adam Jewitt, who is given the week off to recuperate from the rib injury he has been carrying.
"Barking have played all the top sides - Blackheath, Rosslyn Park and Lydney - and will be a more than useful unit," said coach Dave Cook. "We must not be fooled by the fact they have no points and are second bottom."
The Essex visitors will be minus Robert Batho, who was banned for one match by an RFU disciplinary committee for receiving three yellow cards since November 9 last year.
