TWO Hampshire youngsters have been selected to represent Britain in the Mirror World Championships in Tasmania next January.
Ned McNulty (14) and Tom Hodkinson (13), from Hill Head Sailing Club, will be part of the British Team GBR competing in the championships.
McNulty , a pupil at St Mary's College, Southampton, and Hodkinson, who is at Portsmouth Grammar School, have recently teamed up and are part of the 18-strong RYA national junior squad, drawn from under-16s all over the country.
McNulty is soon to be parted from his own highly-tuned Mirror as it is put on a container for the six-week passage to Hobart. He and Tom will spend their New Year at 40,000 feet above Alice Springs on their way to the regatta.
McNulty hopes at some stage to pass on his knowledge by coaching novices at Hill Head under the Volvo RYA Champion Club scheme.
