A new community marked the Queen's Golden Jubilee with all the traditional trimmings.
It was a chance for the people of Keats Close, one of Whiteley's newest roads, to cement old friendships and forge new ones.
Organiser Paul Hunter said: "There is already a fantastic community spirit here. Everyone looks out for each other."
All the children were presented with spoons engraved with the Golden Jubilee 2002 logo.
Elsewhere, a sea of red, white and blue greeted visitors to Charden Road in Gosport as residents staged their long-awaited street party.
The culmination of months of hard work ensured the celebrations were enjoyed by both young and old.
Age has never a barrier to Fareham supergran Connie Cox who, aged 80, is Fareham B&Q's oldest employee.
She jumped at the chance to be queen for a day handing out sweets to children coming into the store on Monday.
It's all in a day's work for Connie who started out at the Southampton Road DIY store 12 years ago.
Meanwhile, residents at Southampton Road, Fareham, got into the patriotic mood with a street party and fancy dress.
For everyone it was an extended bank holiday celebration to remember.
