SOUTHAMPTON International Airport went on emergency alert yesterday after a British Airways plane with 31 people on board turned back with engine problems.
The Jetstream 41 aircraft had taken off from Southampton for Belfast at 3.30pm but returned to the Hampshire airport after a reported problem with one of its engines. Emergency services and the airport's own fire service stood by but the plane landed safely at 4.22pm.
