BASINGSTOKE Town player-of-the-year Jason Bristow was the special guest at the Basingstoke League annnual presentation night at the Basingstoke Irish Centre.
He presented trophies to the Saturday and Sunday league winners and runners-up and also represented cups won in Basingstoke competitions and elsewhere.
Wellington SC secretary Steve Gubby had a busy night. As he is also secretary of Sunday League club AuDeo, in all he took home four trophies. His Saturday club Wellington won the North Hants May Cup and the Supplementary A Cup, along with the runners-up shield in division one. His other club, AuDeo, received the Kelvin Senior Sunday Cup.
The premier division championship cup was received by Robert Buckland, the Hook player-manager, who was also re-presented with the Knightsbridge All Champions Cup they won by beating Kingsclere Sunday. Sunday champions Kingsclere also received the North Hants Senior Sunday Cup.
AFC Aldermaston A won the Supplementary B Cup, their first success since 1990, when they won both the premier division and division two.
A special presentation was made by league chairman Barry Hiscock to Lynne and Frank Morris of Basingstoke Town FC for their assistance in the cup finals held at the Camrose Ground.
Winners and runners-up were:- Sunday division 1: Kingsclere, Emerald Colour; division 2: Hammer and Tongs, M and K Autos; division 3: Urbis Res, Lilly; division 4: Old Brewery, Chineham Res, division 5: Romanstoke, Basingstoke Saints; division 6: Sherfield Wednesday, Jasmine's Heroes.
Saturday premier division: Hook, Three Barrels; division 1: Barbican, Wellington SC; division 2: Headley Ath, Tylney Hall. Basingstoke Senior Cup: RS Basingstoke. Basingstoke A Cup: New Inn.
